Patty Filomeo's Groups
Parents with special needs children
Parents have to deal with many emotions around their special needs child. You are not alone. We will process feelings such as frustration, guilt, exhaustion, and fears. Exchange parenting ideas, and resources. Hear from other parents that you are not alone.
Anxiety
Anxiety - We will define it and figure out how it has changed our life. Use different modalities to replace the anxiety coping mechanisms to calmer and relaxed coping skills. This is an on going therapy group that changes every 3 months.
Mothers group
This is a group for mothers to help cope with Psycho-social stressors, biological stressors and internal conflicts that can arise from or after childbirth. Psycho-social stressors include support, isolation, relationship and financial issues. Biological stressors can incluede genetic disposition, sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, postpartum, physical recovery from birth and breastfeeding. Internal conflicts can include, ambivalence about parenthood, family of origin/attachment issues, perfectionism, unrealistic expectations and more. If you are feeling that even one of these issues fits you, give me a call. I can help.
