I’m a straightforward, down-to-earth therapist in West Des Moines, IA, who works with teens and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, grief & loss, behavioral problems, and the general messiness of being human. I won’t sit back silently and nod the whole time, and I won’t talk at you in circles. We’ll have real conversations—honest, practical, and sometimes even a little uncomfortable (in a good way).
I utilize CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and some existential work—but what that really means is this: we’ll figure out what’s going on, understand why it keeps happening, and start doing something about it.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time, either. Humor matters. Life is hard enough, being able to laugh at the absurdity of it all is part of healing.
