About
For me personally, I find that any client is an ideal client. Every individual has within them their own internal timeline, mechanism, and capacity for change that is inherently correct for them. I do my best to respect this as a clinician. I do ask for an honest accounting of oneself to the best of their ability. If this is successfully reached, then the possibility for healing and moving forward from mental anguish is possible. It is my professional belief that when both the client and the therapist are fully open to the process that the work truly begins.
I began my career working with children who suffered from extreme forms of PTSD and trauma. Through this I learned to love and work with this population. As I continue to expand my repertoire, I find the same lessons learned in those early days are just as applicable when working with traumatized individuals of all ages.
I fully believe in letting the client lead the way to her, his, or, their, best form of themselves. Through empathetic questioning, active listening, and compassionate responses, I fully intend to provide a peaceful, and steady transition from a state of mental anguish to a happier and more well-adjusted one for the client.
