Hi, my name is Patrick Hoekstra, and I am a LCSW in the state of Indiana. I have been practicing since 2016 in Michigan and Indiana. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches as I feel it helps the client achieve their goals quickly by changing how we are thinking to external stimulus. My approach to therapy is a partnership approach where the client and I guide the treatment and each session. I push my clients with love to reach their full potential and to reach their personal goals. I have a lot of experience working with clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and etc.
I like to create an environment where the client is comfortable opening up in a judgement free safe space. This allows the freedom to truly work on the underlining causes of what brought them to therapy. I am easy to talk with and like to use metaphors during sessions.
My approach to goal setting is to identify the symptoms and underlining issues that brought the client to therapy and using a shared decision-making model we come up with goals that make sense to the client but are realistic.
