Patrick Ethel-King's Groups
Social Skills Groups
Social skills groups are designed for children, adolescents, or young adults who have difficulty interacting in social settings with other individuals their age. Participants learn key skills to improve their interactions with peers. The groups involve a combination of hands on activities including games, movement, as well as an educational component, such as: building confidence in social situations, developing and maintaining friends at school and home, improving conversational skills, and self regulation and awareness. All interactive activities are designed for fun and help participants practice social skills, self reflection, and sensory management. www.nhws.us
Sensory Play Groups
Sensory play groups are geared towards young children (ages 6 to 8) who need support with peer interaction, focusing on pro-social behavior and social communication skills. Areas of focus include strengthening verbal expression, reading facial cues, reading gestures, recognizing and labeling emotions in self and others, appropriate emotional expression, body awareness, problem solving, empathy, and self regulation. http://wp.me/P2vHfX-4t
