Life's transitions are challenging at any age. Loss inevitably comes with a period of mourning and grief. But any change, a move, a new relationship, the birth of a child, a new work situation, can sometimes leave us feeling depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or just generally ambivalent or apathetic. We may find ourselves unable to fully enjoy life's pleasures or to make or sustain meaningful connections with others. We may carry around a sense of being stuck and not knowing how to move out and forward from that space.

Our work will situate the present in a larger context that encompasses both past and future. We will process experiences to gain insight into how the present moment came to be. Foreground and background will shift as our work deepens and more fulfilling life trajectories become visible and possible.

I will listen with patience, care, openness, and without judgment. While I may offer advice or guidance at times, and will work with you to relieve feelings of pain or distress, I believe that the most productive therapy happens when we work to formulate your concerns and seek solutions together.

Patricia M Constantinian's Groups

A Psychological Approach to Weight Management

Today's environment is made up of powerful structures and messages that make food addiction, metabolic imbalance, and increased body mass the "default position", accompanied by a decrease in life satisfaction. While we cannot affect the food and lifestyle ecology we live in, we can change how we interact with those parts that affect us. In a safe and supportive space, participants will learn to identify how key elements of the environment manifest and play out in their day-to-day lives. We will develop and implement individually tailored and sustainable ways of eating, living, and thinking that push powerfully against the current norm.
