Are you frustrated with feeling worthless or invisible? Resentful about taking care of others? Need someone to take care of YOU? I specialize in helping women resolve the issues that directly affect them -- body image, feelings, the past, relationships, and children. I believe that the connection we make will help you find solutions that fit for you, become more open and accepting of yourself, and develop a greater capacity for intimacy. You will find a safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere in which you feel validated as you learn to express your emotions and examine your thoughts.
Among the problems I have helped clients resolve are depression, anxiety, anger, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, eating disorders, body image, and relationship issues as well as decisions about ending relationships, healing from divorce, sexuality, sexual orientation, and dealing with being an ACOA (adult child of an alcoholic).
My treatment is based on feminist, humanistic, and integrative principles. We will explore family of origin issues and experiences of abuse and trauma, as well as seek empowerment and balance in your current life. My approach is borrows from Interpersonal, Cognitive-Behavioral, Guided Imagery, Journaling, Self Psychology, Mindfulness and Gestalt therapies, as well as EMDR.
