Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker in Virginia. I work full-time at a residential substance use facility and part-time providing therapy online for individuals with mental health or co-occurring diagnoses. I believe individuals are the experts in their lives and have the strengths and abilities within them to bring to therapy to be successful in improving their quality of life.
In our first session, I would like to get to know the individual and what they would want to gain out of their treatment experience. We would discuss any issues or concerns in their lives that they feel they are wanting to address and begin working toward creating and obtaining goals.
I feel that building rapport with individuals is a strength I have. I want to put the individual at ease. I am genuine and non-judgmental and meet the individual where they are in their process of healing.
