Human beings all need one thing; and that is to feel loved and cared for. Our lives have often left us with past trauma and scars. It is universal. Although some stories are worse than others, each one of us needs to work through some level of pain in order to grow and succeed. Our stories are important. They should be told and shared. Everything we have experienced has made us who we are today. We often seek the familiar and repeat old patterns of behavior which no longer serve us. Change is possible. Telling your story to another who listens and cares can have great healing effects. I am ready to listen.

My own personal history has helped me gain knowledge and skill in mental illness, trauma, and addiction, especially in regard to how families are affected by these stressors. For most people, the scars of the past leave us with a legacy of shame, and a feeling of unworthiness. Self-forgiveness is necessary for true growth to occur. This takes time and work.
