Life can be difficult. At times, we are confronted with painful experiences we would rather avoid. And because we don't deal with the discomfort those situations bring, we keep ourselves stuck - still experiencing and enacting the pain we are trying to avoid. I see psychotherapy as a liberating journey through which we are able to transcend the emotional discomfort painful occurrences bring with them, while learning to relate to our life stories in such a way that they no longer keep us hostage. Through this process, psychological and spiritual growth occurs. Let me walk with you.
In my approach to therapy, I also help my clients to develop insight about how their socio-cultural environment shapes who they are. I am referring to the influence that culture, sexual orientation, and gender have on their self-perceptions. In that awareness, they may choose to redefine aspects of who they are.
Therapy involves trust and the willingness to be vulnerable. I know this can be intimidating . I believe clients have to work at their own pace and I endeavor to respond to your needs. Life has taught me we are resilient and have a tremendous capability for change. While empathizing with you and your difficulties, I will gently challenge you to grow.
