Therapy is different for everyone. There is this belief that therapy is only needed during difficult times, but the truth of the matter is you can go to therapy just because! I enjoy getting to build rapport with my clients and learning who they are beneath the pressures of life. Together we can build a comfortable space to heal the deeper things and also celebrate the wins.
I definitely don't fit the model of a 'typical therapist'. I strive to be authentic and allow you to be your true self at the same time. Whether we are building rapport or digging deeper, I strive to be optimistic and realistic.
My theoretical orientation is based in Interpersonal Neurobiology. To make it simple? I treat the person as a whole. Psychological, physical, spiritual. Humans are just as a complicated as a house plant. Sometimes we thrive, sometimes we are barely hanging on for no reason, whatsoever! I work with trauma, grief and loss, addiction, mood disorders, and more!
I am far from your 'traditional' therapist. I started my career in healthcare as a medical assistant until I feel in love with mental health and chose a different direction. I use my own personal life experiences combined with those of my family, friends, and total strangers to make the best experience for you. We can talk, sit in silence, or color!
