I am Patricia Birmingham and look forward to the exploration of your concerns and seeking to support your healing. I work with adults and adolescents 15 and older via telehealth. I counsel a variety of issues from depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma related disorders, and family of origin issues. I use skills and techniques in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices and a holistic approach. My mission for our work together is to support your desire to improve you life with skills and techniques that encourage personal growth and empowerment.
I consider myself an eclectic practitioner because I use variety of skills and techniques to help with the therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational support, mindfulness techniques, person centered, neurobiological education and trauma techniques. I also assess clients for medical concerns that may be contributing their symptoms.
Taking the step to seek therapy with a person you do not know, can be a difficult decision. I understand this can be unnerving and take a lot of courage. My intention for the work I do, is to support healing and improve a persons life and wellbeing. I do this work with experience, kindness, being direct and honest, and supportive.
