First we need to see where you are in that process and together develop a plan to help you learn the skills you need to improve your daily functioning, improve your relationship with yourself and others, improve your ability to self-sooth and self-regulate, increase your ability to "bounce back" from difficulties and/or increase your sense of connection and self-worth. Relationships are rewarding and hard work. I often work with couples/families.
In addition to individual face-to-face counseling I use Art Therapy and other mind/body expressive techniques to enable you to move past the limitations of "talk therapy" to reduce anxiety and stress. I treat Trauma and PTSD using Brainspotting, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Capacitar International Self Regulation and Stress Reduction methods.
I worked 9 years as a civilian Navy Clinical Counselor/Supervisor assisting our sailors and families with negotiating the difficulties of repeated separation and reunification. We treated Domestic Violence and Child Abuse victims and offenders. I spent 5 years as therapist/case manager in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for adolescents.
