We are born with an inherent connection to ourselves, free of judgment, guilt, or shame. Life experiences and societal expectations shape our understanding of ourselves and our place in the world. When we experience trauma or prolonged stress, we can develop feelings of anxiety, shame, guilt, depression, hopelessness, and isolation. These feelings block us from building and maintaining connections with our families, friends, communities, and ourselves. This isolation can lead to destructive habits and compulsions that undermine the successes we achieve.
I work with people; people experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance use issues. I utilize Person-Centered and trauma-informed practices, including Trauma Focused CBT, Polyvagal Theory, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
These painful experiences, feelings, and habits do not define you-you are not broken. Therapy can be a supportive environment to explore new ways of seeing and being in this world. It can give you back your innate feelings of connection and freedom. I find deep satisfaction in working with people ready to make this journey.
