Couples come to therapy often feeling frustrated, defensive, hurt and angry. Love, attraction and shared life goals may have brought them together, but along the way to deeper emotional intimacy couples meet roadblocks. Growing self-awareness and curiosity about their partner helps them appreciate their differences as enriching rather than threatening. Partners realize that each of them has a role in cultivating the quality of their relationship. Partners learn to support each other's growth and expand their horizons together. Their relationship feels more alive and hopeful. Therapy nurtures the art of relationships for all of us.
I help individuals, couples and families negotiate differences, clarify values and create a culture of kindness and possibility. My specializations include couples work, women's life transitions, infertility, perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, maternal well-being, intermarriage and parenting. People of all sexual orientations and gender identities welcomed.
I welcome couples and adult individuals of all ages to my collaborative, non-judgmental, humor and insight-oriented therapy practice. As a rabbi I offer spiritual, premarital, wedding and bereavement counseling and officiation of weddings, funerals and baby-namings. The wisdom gleaned from years of Buddhist studies and yoga practice informs my therapy work.
