The factors that inform our sources of pain and our available paths to growth and healing are so vast: past experiences, present habits, systemic oppression, and much more. I'd like to work with you to cultivate curiosity about it all, work with the roots of your obstacles, and ultimately clear a path towards the life you want. My approach to therapy focuses on story and relationship. The narratives we hold can constrict us and they can liberate us. The relationships we live in (both past and present!) can be sites for injury and for healing. As a therapist and human I Iove knowing that both can continually be rewritten.
The therapeutic relationship is the base of what we do together. Over time it can become a source of self-knowledge and of visceral healing. I'm holding a justice lens always, and as a multiracial, queer/trans therapist I bring a loving, informed, and critical lens on cultural trauma and systemic power dynamics to my work with clients of all identities.
I believe effective therapy enables change at more than one level: the deep stuff that forms the bedrock of our lives and shifts slowly over time, and the everyday maintenance and repair practices we use to stay afloat. I’m committed to supporting my clients with both.
