Have you always felt like a bit of an outsider? As a child of immigrants, you constantly feel torn between two worlds. On one side are your family and their traditional values of respect and sacrifice. On the other is the American culture of individualism and autonomy. No matter what you do, you always seem to minimize some integral part of yourself. As you've gotten older, you've become more adept at navigating these distinct worlds, but the conflict still exists within you. You're desperate to somehow live outside of the world's judgments and expectations—to just be yourself without explanation or apology. But you don't know how.

I specialize in guiding South Asian teens and young adults through the landscape of intergenerational trauma, bicultural identity, and family dynamics. As a Gujarati-speaking therapist and first-generation South Asian American, I founded Intentional Therapy to create a space where BIPOC individuals, particularly those from South Asian backgrounds.
