Have you ever asked yourself, “Why is this happening to me?” or “What is the meaning to all of this suffering?”? These are universal questions that we all may ponder throughout life. In my practice, I use an integrative style drawing from a number of theoretical orientations. I utilize person-centered tenets to provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves. I have found that the existential themes of anxiety, choice and meaning provide a framework from which we can view our daily struggles and often utilize metaphors highlighting these undertones to help clarify client’s statements.
After examining these areas, the question of “How can I change my present circumstances?” often arises. I combine Cognitive Behavioral and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy with empathy and compassion to help connect one’s thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to action.
During my studies I was taught a simple, yet profound statement, “Lead by following” and it has become my mantra in practice. I work to meet clients where they are, honoring their struggles and celebrating their triumphs. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your journey.
