Hi, I'm Reevkah and I'm so glad you're here. Life can be difficult, especially when you're experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting concerns, low self-esteem and more. Finding happiness and joy can feel out of reach, so I feel lucky to be part of my client's journey to reaching those goals - which are more attainable than they often seem.

Growing as a family is hard. Pregnancy and childbirth can be triggering. Perhaps you’re a seasoned parent who is starting to catch glimpses of your own parents in yourself despite your best attempts to avoid exactly that. Or, maybe you have a creative teen who has been struggling navigating today’s world, and it's been hard to find a therapist that "gets it" that you can trust to help. You just want some relief as you find your way through this phase in life.

Have you been feeling like nothing you do is ever good enough...in your marriage, relationships, as a new parent, or in your life? It is not uncommon that thoughts like this can lead you to feel depressed, anxious, stressed, lonely, and out of control in your life. You may be experiencing some of these challenges and feel you have done all you can to cope, yet find things are not changing or improving. You may feel stuck and not know exactly where to go for help, who the best person would be to talk to, or what to expect from therapy. These are normal questions and concerns. I want to reassure you…You are in the right place!

Finding a therapist can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. Whether or not you have been in counseling before, starting therapy can be hard since it requires vulnerability and trust which can feel challenging for a lot of people. Research has shown that therapy is successful when a client and therapist have a strong connection and form a safe relationship. Please feel free to call or email with any questions to see if you think the services I offer will fit with your specific needs.

I've worked with a variety of challenges including communication difficulties, anxiety/depression, multicultural/diversity issues, infidelity, sexual/intimacy concerns, parenting, as well as premarital counseling.
Experiencing deep hurt, frustration, or loneliness in your marriage can feel like your whole world is collapsing. As a therapist, I am here to meet you and your partner where you are without judgment. I empower you to bravely explore uncomfortable emotions within your relationship, understand your own internal worlds, and show up in authentic and connecting ways. This can be hard–as it requires vulnerability, honesty, and practice–but I believe in you! Some of the greatest hope and healing I have witnessed transpire between partners in the therapy room.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
