They put so much pressure on themselves to be perfect, despite your reassurances. You're constantly soothing their worries or anxiety and they might be crying or having trouble sleeping at night. They always seem to see the worst in themselves or have low self esteem and you know they’re capable of so much more. You’ve read the parenting books and blogs, listened to the podcasts, and nothing is working. It’s exhausting! As a play therapist and mom myself, I get it!

I want to welcome you as you take this courageous step toward your life, your relationships, and your goals. I offer support for individuals, families, couples, and adolescents to help them heal or learn to better manage problems associated with anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management, relationships issues, parenting, and college life. After completing my graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lock Haven University in May 2021, I immediately began working toward state licensure doing outpatient therapy in a private practice setting. I have experience working with couples, individuals, and college students.

Many people do not realize that when life gets hard, it is a sign of strength to reach out for help. In my 20+ years of counseling couples, families, parents, and individuals, I have provided my clients with a safe environment to restore themselves and rediscover their strengths. I believe a primary focus of therapy is to create a supportive relationship with my clients to help them discover what is keeping them stuck, and help them move forward in achieving their goals.

Couples come to me when they are sick of small disagreements turning into BIG arguments. Many therapists start with the problems… I start with solutions. I’ve created simple tools to help couples communicate based on seeing what successful couples do differently for over 20 years in practice.

For attorneys, courts, and individuals involved with legal matters, I provide forensic services to include consultation, evaluations for court, drug assessments, sexual offense recidivism, and jury selection. I have also aided courts with child custody cases, home evaluations, and adoptions. I also provide psychological testing for private clients.

One simple way to describe life is that it can be incredibly hard. Even in the best, most beautiful moments and more often in the darkest of times, it can be complicated, difficult, and challenging to navigate. At each chapter in our lives we are faced with new experiences, new emotions, and new possibilities that we have never been through before. And there’s no one way, fix-it-all solution, to get us through it. We simply try to figure it out as we go. I have counseled individuals, families, and couples for forty-four years. I assist clients with issues that include depression, anxiety, family communication, career choices, and the stress of physical illness. Trained in psychodynamic, client-centered, and Jungian methods, I tailor counseling to the needs of clients. I favor approaches that respect innate creativity, core values, and interdependence. In addition to talking, other modalities may include relaxation and imagery, sometimes called self-hypnosis, journaling, and the use of art. As a former priest I bring to my practice the conviction that problems are ultimately resolved by finding meaning and purpose.

I am certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors to treat anxiety and depression. Together, we will work on symptom relief to achieve positive outcomes. We will design a unique and individualized plan (new tools for your toolbox!) to assist in relapse prevention.

I have 27 years of experience helping clients improve their overall well-being.
