Announcement icon We are a Teletherapy provider. We have been providing Teletherapy for years and are seasoned in the use of this therapy platform.
The CBT Center for Anxiety and OCD believes in providing the community with the most cutting-edge, expert Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, OCD, OC Spectrum Disorders and related conditions. We successfully treat clients with generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, phobias and panic. The Center also treats all OC Spectrum conditions including Body Dysmorphic Disorder, hoarding, caretakers of people who hoard, Trichotillomania (hair pulling), Excoriation (skin picking) and tics. We treat ALL forms of OCD including many of the lesser known types: relationship, existential, just right, pedophile, harm/violence, sexual orientation, hit & run, magical thinking, postpartum, moral scrupulosity/religious, symmetry/equalizing, health anxiety/hypochondriasis, olfactory reference syndrome (fear of body odor), muscle dysmorphia (obsessive focus on muscles), emotional contamination, PANS/PANDAS, orthorexia (obsession with healthy eating), sensorimotor/hyperawareness and hyper-responsibility. The Center also specializes in working with people who have anxiety co-occurring with introversion, giftedness, people-pleasing and perfectionism as well as Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Dyslexia and medical conditions. We frequently treat individuals with comorbid depression, ADHD and Bipolar Disorder. Specializing in anxiety, OCD and related conditions allows us to stay on top of the latest scientific research and utilize the most effective strategies for you.
We are proud to offer the most advanced treatments available. All of our clinicians have been rigorously trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including Cognitive Therapy, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Imaginal Exposure and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). Treatment follows a CBT framework that is directive, collaborative, focuses on the here-and-now and serves to teach you/your child concrete skills that will help you manage the situation more effectively. Clinicians also utilize strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Consideration is given as to how you are operating within your current family system as well as your family of origin. Clients and their loved-ones are strongly encouraged to be actively involved in the treatment process. We will tailor treatment to meet your individual needs, goals and pace. Our clinicians will teach you the skills you need to overcome your struggles with compassion, warmth, knowledge and humanness. We understand that many people who have anxiety and OCD experience tremendous shame. The people we see are some of the BRAVEST people we have ever met. We applaud your courage in coming forward and asking for help and are grateful for your trust.
We work with clients ages 3 into late adulthood. Our clinicians are sensitive to people of all sexual, gender, racial, religious and political orientations. The Center DOES NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY INSURANCE PLANS. Please note that for many conditions it can be imperative that you see a specialist. Seeing a generalist who is not trained to treat your condition can prolong recovery and add to feeling hopeless. Generalists may inadvertently be worsening your anxiety by providing reassurance, by encouraging you to avoid fearful situations or by using incorrect techniques. Check with your insurance provider to find out what your "out-of-network behavioral healthcare benefits" are. You may find that seeing a specialist, who provides faster, longer lasting results, is more cost effective in the long run. The Center is able to provide a reduced fee or payment plan if finances are an issue. While most clients are seen weekly, the Center is able to provide multiple weekly sessions if faster results are desired or if there are time limitations. Clinicians can provide treatment in the home, school and community (e.g., driving, flying phobia). Teletherapy via phone or video-chat is available for any client residing in Pennsylvania.
