If you are worried about your child, I may be able to help. I work with children who are struggling with emotional and social difficulties that make every day challenges harder and interfere with feeling confident and secure. Separation issues, fears, relatedness issues, and parent-child issues are frequent motivations for parents to seek my services. I offer ongoing parent guidance and 3 session consults on children who I are presenting with symptoms that are difficult for parents and teachers to sort out. I also offer clinical supervision for child focused clinicians or therapeutic teachers.
I have expertise with children between the ages of 2 and 12, and am available to do short term consultation for children and their parents. I have work with play, drawing and talking therapy to help identify unresolved developmental and life experience issues that are causing distress at home or in school.
I'm the author of several books on child mental health, and Founding Director of the Center for Emotionally Responsive Practice at Bank Street College, as well as Ongoing Director of the Schools That Heal.. I frequently treat teachers who juggle their own needs and their student's needs. My private practice is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
