I have a particular interest in helping people with personality and relationship problems. In therapy I try to create an environment where patients will feel safe sharing and exploring all their thoughts and feelings about themselves, so that we can trace how these affect their daily experiences. To do this we may also examine the person's moment to moment experience in therapy. Understanding the interactions between internal assumptions on the one hand, and feelings and behavior, on the other,leads to a more stable sense of self and the possibility of different choices.

Over the past thirty years, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with diverse mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, Post-concussive syndrome, ADHD, learning disabilities, ASD, addiction, grief, and trauma. Recognizing that individuals experience stress in many aspects of their life and struggle with life's transitions, I work with children and adolescents transitioning through the stages of development and with adults facing marital, parenting, custody and relationship issues. The great majority of my clients suffer from anxiety and depression often triggered by conflicts in families, school, jobs, with authority figures, and peers. My client base includes teachers, students, law enforcement officers, parents, professionals, and financial advisers. Through my leadership experience in crises and trauma events (including 9/11), I have developed a coping model presented in my book, Resiliency. I use this model to help people to "bounce back" and restore high-level functioning. My approaches are short-term and solution-based.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and one of the owners of a group practice called Inspire Wellness. Inspire Wellness is made up of 25 clinicians with various specialties. We have offices throughout Bergen County offering therapy, Sport Psychology, Neuropsychological Testing, and Forensic Psychology. Working in a group decreases the likelihood that we run a waiting list and allows clients to find a clinician with the specialty and approach that fits their specific need.
