I work with clients throughout the life span. I believe it is important to develop a relationship and assist the client to creating goals toward their own behavior change. We will explore the client's background and past events that have caused the client to seek out support to better their future. I do challenge a client to address when their actions are not working toward the goals they have set for therapy.

The therapist is present to support and walk alongside the client on their path to well-being. I believe that people have the solutions to their problems and challenges within themselves and the therapist’s job is to help excavate what is buried within.

Emotional distress can arise from a number of sources, for a variety of reasons. I work with patients to help them make sense of what they're feeling, so that a course of action can be set toward change and mastery. The goal is to feel and function better, and to engage more fully in life, career, relationship. I work primarily with adults in individual therapy and offer consultation to families, couples and primary care physicians. Presenting problems often include depression, anxiety and relationship distress.

She has extensive experience in functional behavior assessments, creating, implementing and training others on evidence-based behavior intervention plans as well as working with educational professionals to modify curriculum and IEP/504 goals.

Through this collaborative approach, the client and I, identify their strengths and build on these characteristics through therapy. We identify areas in the individuals' life which are not useful or producing an undesirable outcome-such as self-destructive behavior, poor communication skills. This enables the client to gain an understanding of their symptoms and behavior and become more able to make practical, helpful changes. This way of working can help them live a more fulfilling life with understanding and meaning.
