Hi, my name is Dr. Celia and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who opened my practice to help those who want to make a change in their lives. I specialize in working with trauma across the lifespan, which is how I know how significantly our brains and bodies can shift after a difficult event and/or a series of difficult life circumstances. I am a Dually-Licensed Clinical Therapist and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 10 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, specializing in children and families along with addiction treatment. I combine CBT, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, behavioral analysis, and mindfulness/insight awareness with a client-centered solution-focused approach.

My biggest therapeutic success is to incorporate things in my therapy session such as playing games, playing sports, dancing, art, team building, executive functioning, self-esteem checks, charades, role-plays, and music therapy that are so enjoyable to the children that it makes them feel more open and honest to share about the things they want to work on, what they need to work on, but gets them excited to come back each week and learn the skills that they want and need, but have fun while doing it.

I specialize in working with children who have experienced trauma, particularly abuse and attachment trauma. I have a nurturing, yet directive style that helps children and families to feel at ease, as I believe that safety in the therapeutic relationship is most important. My passion lies in helping children emotionally heal, and helping parents to play an integral role in this process. In working with children, I provide evidenced based skills in addressing mood, adjustment, anxiety disorders, and learning disabilities. I focus on a collaborative process in providing clients with prevention and intervention towards their present stressors.
