I am a licensed psychologist accepting teletherapy patients from all areas of Georgia. In-office patients will be seen at St Simons Psychiatry. I work with all ages incorporating mental, physical and spiritual factors. Therapy with children and teens typically involves better communication with parents and parenting help. Areas of expertise are mood, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, behavior problems, autism, chronic pain, stress and anger management.

I also incorporate a variety of experiential techniques to support my clients, especially kids, in expressing themselves and processing their emotions. I have practiced in schools and community mental health settings where I primarily worked with adults as well as children and families navigating life transitions, intergenerational trauma, neurodiversity, and identity exploration.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I empower individuals to experience emotional and mental health renewal, through gaining inner strength to overcome difficult situations and lead a rewarding life. I provide counseling services to Individuals and families facing difficult situations; involving emotional distress, grief and loss, relationship, community mental health and trauma issues. My services extends to providing In-home early intervention counseling to at-risk families with histories of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, school truancy , anger management, substance abuse , depression , grief and loss, adjustment and conduct disorders, oppositional defiant behaviors and high risk individuals for suicidal behaviors .

With a deep passion for improving the parent-child relationship, I specialize in working with families facing behavioral challenges in children, such as tantrums, irritability, big feelings, disproportionate reactions, anger, aggression, and defiance. My mission is to empower parents with effective tools and strategies to create a harmonious home environment. After equipping children with coping skills, I work with parents to reinforce skill use. By giving parents the tools needed to help their child succeed, therapy is more impactful and helps long-term.

I specialize in working with children/ teens/ adults struggling with problems that interfere with social, emotional, behavioral and academic functioning. Elaine Johnson, PhD, is a pre-licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of psychological symptoms for children, adolescents and adults. She completed her PhD at Emory University and her predoctoral internship at the Emory school of Medicine Child and Adolescent Mood Program where she received extensive training in working with children adolescents and young adults struggling with concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD and mood dysregulation. She also has expertise in providing Parent Management Training, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy adapted for Selective Mutism.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 10 years of therapy experience. I am passionate about the mental health of individuals struggling with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and anxiety. I have successfully helped children, families, and adults with adjustment difficulties, traumatic stress exposure, and other concerns that impact their daily functioning.
