My goal as a therapist, and as a person, is to always make sure that everyone feels welcomed, valued, and accepted.

I am Hatsie Lamb, a licensed Professional Counselor and Supervising Counselor. I began working in the mental health field as the Executive Director of the Mental Health Association of Mobile, Alabama. I was an educator and advocate for persons with mental health issues for ten years. During that time, I went back to school and got my Master's degree in counseling and I have been a counselor for 24 years. I've worked in mental health centers, employee assistance programs, child protective services and private practice settings. I currently work as an online counselor for BetterHelp.

I use an integrative approach, assessing which techniques are best suited for you. My goal is to meet you where you are and assist you in reaching where you want to be. I believe in tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each client by using a variety of approaches.

Somethings can be so sensitive or difficult we cannot talk to those who are involved. Maybe we need to discuss issues with those we are closest to us but can't or don't know how without causing conflict. At times we need someone who will listen judgment free. Relationships (self and with others) become “complicated” and impact our ability to function in our lives and cause distress and/or dysfunction often leading to poor coping and adapting skills, leading to depression, anxiety, suicide idealization, etc. Our sessions end organically. Our focus is on you and not arbitrary time restraints. We also offer 24 hour emergency support.

The ability to help others is of great importance to me. It is my objective to create a safe, warm, and inviting atmosphere for clients. While trained in a variety of theories, I seek to adapt my skills to meet the needs of my clients. Although my counseling background and specialties are with children and families, I value working with anyone because I believe we are brought to each other for a reason. I work with individuals, families, and children and utilize play and sand therapy in treatment.

Every story is unique, but one thing we share is a need for help. Asking for help may be the hardest part, but this crossroad is where change can happen. This belief is why I am passionate for people who find themselves in a fog, a downward spiral, holding deep wounds, at their wits end, or hiding behind shame. My goal is to provide a gracious place to process, build awareness, and offer a redemptive reframe that sheds light on all of life.
