If your child is between the ages of 2 to 7 and struggles with outbursts, difficulty following directions, aggression toward peers and siblings, destruction and/or disobedience, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy might be a good fit for your family. Our team of PCIT therapists are devoted to helping parents enjoy spending time with their child again and regain confidence in managing their child's behaviors.
Throughout PCIT, you will be able to spend quality time with your child while your therapist provides coaching and live feedback through a one-way mirror and “bug-in-the-ear” device. PCIT has two components. The first half of treatment is based on enriching the healthy attachment you have with your child as well as increasing warmth and security. The second half of treatment empowers parents by teaching you specific strategies and skills to improve compliance and set limits while maintaining warmth and consistency with your child.
Auxilium currently employs a PCIT Within-Agency Trainer who can certify therapists on site, in addition to 5 PCIT therapists. Our clinic has 2 state-of-the-art PCIT rooms equipped with toys for all ages. All trainers and trainees within this clinic are certified through and associated with PCIT International.
