One of the most important parts of therapy is the connection you have with your therapist. I feel that a person needs to be comfortable with me and like me in order to be able to share their stories, their struggles, their secrets. I try to facilitate this comfort by learning about what your needs are and meeting you at where you are currently in your life. We'll work collaboratively to figure out what's working and not working within your life and how we can adjust it to help you feel balanced.
When a person is more comfortable, they are more open to their personal growth. I offer a direct approach where I practice empathy while being straightforward and providing direction to my clients. I am also offering supervision to LPC-A's who are beginning their licensing process.
I work with individuals, couples, families; addressing a number of issues: eating disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and self esteem. I utilize an integrative approach which incorporates a variety of therapy modalities. I approach each client with a sense of uniqueness - we all need different things!
