Suboxone group therapy to prevent relapse
SUBOXONE is a narcotic medication for the treatment of opioid dependence, and prescribed by Dr. Huda, MD, to patients under her care. The group approach is based on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for depression and mindfulness-based stress reduction targets core endogenous brain reward system the mediates addictive behavior by targeting two of the main predictors of relapse: negative emotions and cravings, during which individuals learn and implement healthy coping skills and lifestyle commitment to making changes in diet/nutrition, daily exercise, and sleep hygiene, and meditation.
