While there are many reasons people seek therapy, one thought is central: something has to change. Considering this idea takes tremendous courage. It can also bring tremendous reward. Change is not always easy, but it is possible. Therapy can be a powerful tool in this process by helping you gain insight, support, and confidence to develop new patterns and behaviors. As a clinical psychologist, I work collaboratively with people to identify the source of their pain and empower them to resolve it using evidenced-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies.
I have a special interest in working with disruptions of the mind-body connection, which often relate to trauma, eating disorders, and anxiety. With tools to help you stay present and master your nervous system, we can work together to greatly reduce the pain that accompanies a mind-body disconnect.
I believe people are inherently strong and resilient, and can reconnect with those parts of themselves in environments where they are not judged, receive understanding, and work toward their own goals. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you more about how I can assist you in your work.

Pamela Singer's Groups

Trauma Skills Group

Trauma-related disorders trap you in the past and are, at their heart, disorders of presence. This group focuses on empowering you to stay in the present and move into the future. This 16 week aims to give you the skills to manage your trauma-related symptoms and put yourself--rather than the symptoms--in the driver's seat. Skills include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills. Group is closed (ie no newcomers after group has begun) to create safety, and runs with 5-8 participants. ***Group is currently on hold***

Eating Disorder Recovery Through the Holidays

This is a group that works to address the challenges we may face with disordered eating, especially through the holiday season. The group combines support with concrete skills members can use to manage behavioral urges and body image distress. The skills combine empirically supported techniques from dialectical behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Group size is limited, please email for more information.
