I am an LCPC, with 30+ years of experience helping children and adults heal from trauma, including 5 years specializing in sexual abuse. I use evidence-based therapies like EMDR and Play Therapy to help clients process trauma, reduce anxiety, and overcome negative feelings about themselves related to the past.
Working through trauma is very personal and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, while learning coping skills specific to trauma. I have specialized training in the treatment of trauma including Trauma Sensitive Yoga, TFCBT and I am certified in EMDR. I have experience in working with victims of sexual abuse. I am Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor I and have training specific to therapy with children. I am experienced in working with anxious children and in providing parenting.
In order to be the best therapist I can I feel I must practice my own self-care, I have a regular yoga and meditation practice and enjoy the outdoors as often as I can.
I find Maine's natural beauty to be healing. I have recently added walk and talk therapy in order to share that experience with my clients.
