Mental health needs affect everyone differently and yet it can impact how one sees the world, themselves, and others. Furthermore, various diversity factors such as race, gender, religion, also influence the way one see's him/herself and the way that the world sees and treats a person. In my work with children, adults, couples, and families which spans for more than 15 years, I focus on seeing and understanding the whole person in order to assist clients on their journey to healing and acceptance.
My role as a Psychologist is to walk beside my clients and help them understand the nature of their difficulties, assist them in recognizing their strengths, and help them to create the needed changes in their lives.
Knowing when to ask for help is one the most challenging thing to do in life because many people view this as an act of failure. I believe that asking for help takes courage, strength, and is an act of self-care. In taking this step towards healing, I find myself honored and privileged to be a part of one's journey towards growth and self-fulfillment.
