Pamela Margaret Ashkenazy, PhD, LMFT, Marriage & Family Therapist in Corte Madera
Are you grieving the chronic illness or death of someone you love? Do you fear that you will not ever again find meaning and purpose in your life? Would you like help in accessing attachment to your loved one? With grief counseling and support, it is possible to find a way to cope with the death of your child, sibling, or spouse. The scope of my education, extensive training, clinical and personal experience informs my ability to effectively help individuals, couples, and groups regain lost hope following a life-shattering tragedy.
I hold a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion. My training is focused on addressing depression, suicidal ideation, complex grief, complex trauma, post traumatic stress (PTSD), and post traumatic spiritual growth (PTSG).
My psychotherapeutic approach is mostly drawn from work of the Victor E. Frankl. Frankl developed logotherapy: a psychotherapeutic practice focused on individuals search for meaning in life, despite horrific loss. I also draw from complex trauma treatments such as eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
