The therapeutic relationship creates a unique space for patient and therapist to explore and uncover new possibilities for growth and change in areas that are of importance to the patient. I work collaboratively with patients to dislodge and free up deeply-embedded patterns of behavior and ways of relating to others that can keep us stuck and prevent us from moving forward, from achieving important goals, and from developing satisfying relationships that are nurturing and sustaining. Relationships are central to my work with patients, whether working individually, in couples therapy, or in a group.
Group psychotherapy offers an opportunity for patients to work on their issues experientially with other members. In this way, group work can be instrumental in helping patients that have reached a plateau in their individual work to dig deeper and to access new levels of understanding, growth, and change.
In addition to private practice, I am a clinical instructor at Case Western Reserve University in the Department of Psychological Sciences. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, and American Group Psychotherapy Associations. I hold a bachelor's degree with honors from Williams College.

Relational Psychotherapy Group
This psychodynamically-oriented group encourages members to develop and explore their relationships with others as well as themselves. The group is experiential in nature, with members working to increase awareness of recurring interpersonal patterns that affect their sense of self and relationships. Concerns addressed by the group include deepening relationships, expressing feelings without alienating others, feeling more comfortable "in your own skin", learning to be more spontaneous, worrying less about judgement, increasing awareness of how others see you, and increasing resilience in relationships. Pre-group consultation required.

Grief and Loss - Potential for New Meaning
Finding meaning and a new way forward after significant loss, endings, or transitions can seem daunting and, perhaps, not even possible. This process-oriented, experiential group is for those who wish to search within themselves along with each other to uncover new possibilities for aliveness, creativity, and meaning after experiencing loss, endings, or difficult transitions.
