About
Therapy is about what works for you. I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental, and confidential space to explore and shift away from maladaptive thoughts and patterns. I work relationally with individuals to foster self satisfaction, further self understanding and appreciation, and restore the self. A comfortable patient and therapist relationship is key to successful and meaningful therapy. I view the client as the expert on his or her own experience. I aim to create a safe space in order to expand awareness of that experience, integrate aspects that may have been excluded from awareness, and integrate new experience and meanings.
I most often work with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma symptoms, domestic violence, grief, illness, substance abuse, adjustment difficulties, and relational difficulties. I am passionate about ending the cycle of abuse and I have over 17 years of domestic violence intervention and advocacy experience.
I serve as adjunct faculty for UCONN School of Social Work. I present at Second Saturday Divorce Workshops, offering essential legal, financial, and emotional information. I am affiliated with Connecticut Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology and National Association of Social Workers. I have planned continuing education courses for mental health professionals.
