When asked what an ideal client is, my response is that it does not exist and often the issue that a client starts with evolves into something different. The goal is to work with each individual to develop a sense of the problem and begin to look at strategies to move towards solutions. For some people that involves a few weeks of therapy and fo others, it is a longer journey
I come to the work with and open mind to connect with each individuals unique qualities. I have worked both in the US and in Belize where I taught social work and counseling for over ten years. My belief is that give me a multicultural experience to reach out to people from many walks of life.
People who choose therapy show great courage in deciding to deal with painful issues. I am always aware that it is a honor to be part of the journey. It will be important that we are honest with each other and work as a team. My hours can be flexible, mostly because I understand that people are busy and often have very full lives outside the treatment
