I’m guided by a desire to help you be your most emotionally authentic self, and the healing power of a supportive therapeutic relationship for conducting sustained personal inquiry. I help individuals, families, couples, and adolescents work on communication, relationship issues and repetitive patterns in thinking and behavior.
My somatic psychodynamic approach draws on trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, family systems and attachment theory. I draw on lived experience to support families of children with special education needs. Because obstacles are rarely overcome by talk alone, the mind-body connection is paramount in my work.
I believe in the primacy of the nervous system in healing and am trained in experiential, body-oriented trauma treatment including Somatic Experiencing (SE), EMDR, IFS and which provide access to our body’s natural healing system and are particularly effective for healing trauma and stress disorders as well as symptoms of depression and anxiety.
