About
Because people are not defined by a diagnosis or demographic, I don't specialize-I individualize. I have extensive experience helping clients identify personal and professional goals while helping them focus on maintaining present commitments and expectations. Within a structured conversation, it is possible to address barriers-situational and emotional-and effectively develop a realistic plan for creating desired changes. I enjoy combining insight oriented psycho-dynamic therapy with the goal setting aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy.
I have a strong background in helping clients to successfully work through family of origin issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, addictive behaviors and career struggles. My clients often benefit from bringing a notebook to sessions as a means of tracking their application of work done in therapy to challenging situations.
I'm comprehensive in my clinical approach, structuring the client's work in therapy by first fully mapping out their presenting problem, the link to biographical data, when appropriate and at what point they first made the decision to seek help.
