Sometimes, we can get messages that we can't change ourselves or our lives, that we aren't worthy of healing, that we should not hold on to hope. I believe that during those times, it is so important to seek support. In therapy, you can find a place to explore the challenges you are facing and can receive support as we work together to come up with new strategies. I enjoy helping clients find healing, hope, and wholeness in the face of difficult experiences, particularly those related to race and culture, identity, family problems, self-esteem, and spirituality.
I specialize in working with adults and college/graduate students who are dealing with depression, anxiety, traumatic events, discrimination, or challenging relationships. I have experience working with a wide range of cultural backgrounds. My approach to therapy integrates a number of models, including Interpersonal and Cognitive Behavioral theories.
I utilize empirically-supported strategies; however, I know that each person comes with their own strengths, challenges and perspectives, so no one approach fits everyone. I value the personal and creative aspects of therapy, and I believe that growth, healing and change take place in a caring and supportive relationship.
