My passion is working with family members of those struggling with addiction. Whether you are a spouse, child or parent, your life has been deeply impacted by your family member's addictive disease. As loved ones, we have often focused on our sick family member so long that we have lost ourselves. It takes support, education and courage to find balance. I have found that when loved ones get help for themselves, their family member often gets healthier. I also have deep compassion for parents, particularly d mothers, who are working to rebuild relationships with their children after battling their own addiction.
Through years of experience I can help family members begin their own healing, including boundary setting, education about the disease of addiction and the family system. I offer information about support groups and other resources for help. I address concerns of children of alcoholics/addicts and work with addicts/alcoholics as well.
You deserve help for yourself. If you do not reach out to me, reach out to another counselor to gain balance and relief. You need non-judgmental, safe and confidential care with an experienced counselor. When the pain of staying the same is more painful than changing, it is time for help.
