On the outside, you look like you have it all together. You appear confident, reliable and organized. But your reality is that you're overwhelmed and you feel like you're barely keeping it together. That voice inside of you is constantly telling you that you aren't doing enough. You might feel like you're taking care of everyone else all of the time - and never yourself. Maybe you've even been drinking too much to try to take the edge off sometimes. And, the other things you've tried don't seem to help either. All you know is that you're on the brink of exhaustion and don't know what to do anymore.

It's hard to ask for help, so you have taken a really good first step in finding help and feeling better. A significant piece of meaningful and effective therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. When it's the right fit, therapy can be a wonderful part of your life and can lead to feeling more grounded, confident and empowered. I am grateful to be in this work. It is a privilege to hear the stories of my clients and be a part of their journey.

"Each of us is born with the potential to be the best version of ourselves. For most of us, along the way, life can get in the way. Whether it's substances, relationships, anxiety or negative thoughts; we lose our way. We find ourselves muddling through what is meant to be a satisfying and uplifting journey. If you want to discover how to get back to that inborn potential; therapy may be the answer. I won't have all the answers, no one knows you better than you! I will help you uncover the answers that are true for you."

Every individual is different, It is not easy to function with debilitating depression, anxiety or any behavioral health diagnosis. Just as one needs help and support with a medical diagnosis, we all need support with behavioral health diagnoses. I am here to offer support in a therapeutic, positive and holistic environment. To meet you where you are. To provide a judgement free zone. I use CBT techniques along with other interventions and tools that I have mastered over the years to meet the person where they are. Often taking the first step is the hardest part, but know that you are stronger just by being here and seeking help.

"It is the quality of our relationships that will determine the quality of our lives." -Esther Perel. Why is it that our most important relationships can feel the most challenging and combative? Silly squabbles that lead to distance and instability can cause us to feel lonelier next to our partner than when we’re alone. We feel caught in a loop of endless drama unable to escape the gridlock.

Nobody gets through life without difficult experiences. Some experiences, like living through childhood neglect, abuse, or family dysfunction, make everyday stressors even more difficult. Difficult childhood experiences don’t just “go away” once we become adults. They can impact every aspect of adult life.

Reaching out to a professional takes courage. When struggles and unexpected challenges arise, it can lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, OCD, and many other psychological and emotional symptoms. Sometimes stress leads to compulsive behaviors, including over indulging in alcohol and substance misuse. We encourage self-exploration into the patterns that keep individuals stuck, and prevent them from moving forward. We help client's capitalize on their strengths to focus on reaching their highest potential.

My clients are children and teens experiencing difficulty with creating change on their own. I am a Certified Clinical Child & Adolescent Anxiety Treatment Professional. My primary specialty is anxiety and low self-esteem in children and teens. Treating anxiety has always been an interest of mine. There are many individuals dealing with anxiety, so I felt that it was important to understand it well. I can help you age in peace! Having reached senior age myself it is time for me to concentrate on the issues that meet us as seniors. We all experience grief and health issues that are both emotionally and practically hard to handle without support. Conflict between generations are common. Some are emotional issues. Some can be triggered wills, health directives, powers of attorney, naming of estate executors. With my background in both family therapy and family law I am uniquely qualified to resolve and prevent these kinds of family conflicts. I don’t give legal advise, but I can point out things you should discuss with a lawyer.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
