My approach to therapy is grounded in my authenticity and deep respect for clients’ insight and perspective. You have strengths and resources, perhaps unknown, that can drive meaningful healing and change. I specialize in treating trauma and stress disorders from a person-centered approach. Treating trauma and stress isn’t one item on a long list of specialties. This is what I do, period.

You’ve built success in your career, but behind the scenes, anxiety and imposter syndrome are holding you back. Whether you’re a high-profile professional, athlete, celebrity, or just someone trying to balance life’s demands, the constant pressure to perform is wearing you down. You long for relief, clarity, and the confidence to truly own your success without the nagging fear of being “found out.” You want to escape the overwhelm and find a space where you can truly breathe, reflect, and recharge.

Psychotherapy helps you see yourself and your world in a new way. I am passionate about helping my clients to discover what make them feel truly alive, and I view my role as helping clients to identify the ideas or relationships that stifle that power. My style is compassionate and interactive, fully appreciating the courage it takes to engage in psychotherapy, while helping you make room for new possibilities to unfold. I look forward to working with you!

Starting therapy is a big step and I like to demystify the process. Drawing on tools from cognitive-behavior therapy and positive psychology, I help people approach their current difficulties in a structured and collaborative manner. We'll talk about how you feel, but also discuss concrete strategies to help. I work with individuals with depression, anxiety, stress or relationship issues. Coping with acute and chronic illness is an area of particular interest. I also work with people who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed in either their personal or professional lives with the goal of not just getting by, but flourishing.

Feel Better. Whether for depression, anxiety or relationship issues, the majority of clients come to therapy with the goal of feeling better; happier, more connected to others, and free from the paralysis of emotional pain or trauma. We look at how an issue experienced in the now came to be there, from early childhood experience to prior adult experiences, and how these all culminated in the present problem(s). We also utilize techniques to individually tailor treatment to the patient's needs, including cognitive/behavioral, problem-solving, and insight-oriented therapies, and often ..humor(!)

A lot of folks arrive to therapy because they're feeling stuck and uncertain and noticing old patterns that just aren't working anymore. If that sounds like you, you're not alone. My job is to support you in identifying those worn-out cycles and building something new. I tend to work well with young adults and college students, couples and partners, people experiencing anxiety, grief, or depression, LGBTQ+ clients, and anyone trying to know themselves better.

I view psychotherapy as the ultimate practice of self-care. Sessions are a time to explore your inner self, your outer relationships, and evaluate how your past and present influence your future. I approach treatment with an existential, intersectional feminist, and person-centered lens – this means I consider gender, race, class, sexuality, belief, biology, ability, physicality, and life experiences during our work together.

I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the complex emotional challenges that often accompany chronic medical conditions. I draw on evidence-based practices to help clients develop insight, strengthen internal coping strategies, and reconnect with their own sense of power and direction.

If you or someone you love is facing serious illness, you already know the emotional weight is unlike anything else. Fear, grief, and uncertainty can arrive all at once and finding support shouldn't be one more thing to figure out. I came to this work personally. As a cancer survivor, I know what it's like to need someone who truly gets it. I work with people navigating serious illness of any kind, caregivers, and those facing grief and loss because when illness enters your life, grief rarely waits for the end. I'm calm, unhurried, and here to listen without judgment. You don't have to carry this alone. I'd be honored to support you

Life often brings seasons of change - some expected, others sudden - that can stir feelings of uncertainty, stress, or sadness. Facing health concerns or moving through major transitions can feel overwhelming at times. In these moments, therapy becomes a place to pause, regain balance, and discover new ways of coping, healing, and moving forward with resilience.

I work with individuals facing life changes, illness, cancer, grief, and anxiety.
Life can offer us a lot of unknowns—whether it’s a difficult diagnosis, the loss of someone we love, burnout, or simply feeling out of touch with ourselves. These kinds of experiences can bring up intense emotions that affect our everyday lives and put pressure on our relationships. We might find ourselves just going through the motions, struggling to rest, or feeling like we’re stuck in survival mode.

I have over 14 years of experience working with people who have been diagnosed with cancer.
I help people who feel emotionally and spiritually depleted find their way back to a deeper sense of self. Many of my clients have spent years in survival mode — caregiving, coping with illness, pushing through burnout, or navigating transitions that left them feeling unmoored. Others are dealing with grief, a loss of direction, or a sense that something essential is missing. Whether you're healing from something specific or simply sensing a call to realign, our work together can support your journey toward wholeness, clarity, and meaning.

How does cancer affect mental health?
A cancer diagnosis is a major life event that can significantly influence the mental health of any individual. Being diagnosed with cancer often introduces a sense of uncertainty about the future, which can cause clients to experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and significant distress. Many cancer patients may also worry about the toll that their diagnosis may have on their family, their physical health, their job, and their financial situation. The compounding of such stressors can also decrease mental health in clients and may lead to additional symptoms that can influence mental health, such as sleeping difficulties or social withdrawal.

What is the best psychological therapy for cancer patients?
The best type of psychological therapy for cancer patients is highly dependent on the needs of the individual. The therapy type that a client benefits from may also depend on what stage of the cancer journey they are in. Recently diagnosed cancer patients, for instance, may benefit from therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can help clients develop skills to manage the emotional distress that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Alternatively, cancer patients further along in their journey may benefit from therapies like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or other forms of mindfulness therapy to help manage symptoms or physical pain associated with treatment. Clients may also consider group therapy, which offers cancer patients an opportunity to receive support from other individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Are there any risks or drawbacks in going to therapy while dealing with cancer?
Although attending therapy while dealing with a cancer diagnosis can be helpful, one major concern for cancer patients can be the financial cost of seeking therapy. Many therapists are out-of-network, meaning they do not accept insurance, and thus clients are expected to pay the entirety of the session fee. Since many cancer patients may be out of work as a result of their diagnosis or cancer treatment regimen, the costs of therapy sessions can be substantial. Luckily, many cancer centers and local clinics may offer free or substantially reduced-cost counseling services to cancer patients and their families. In addition, cancer patients may be eligible for grants or other forms of funding from local agencies and nonprofits to seek therapy for their cancer diagnosis. Such opportunities can be very helpful for cancer patients, as they allow clients to obtain the benefits of therapy without the financial strain.

How long does cancer therapy typically last?
The length of cancer therapy depends on the needs of each client. In some cases, cancer patients may only require therapeutic support during the period following their initial diagnosis—to help manage the uncertainty and shock of a cancer diagnosis. In other cases, clients may choose to receive therapy throughout their treatment, and even following, their cancer journey. Pursuing therapy for a longer period of time can help clients develop a deeper relationship with their therapist and provide opportunity to process the challenges presented by cancer treatment, such as physical pain, and challenges associated with cancer survivorship, such as ongoing identity concerns, physical limitations, or relationship challenges.
