“In any given moment, we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.” My ideal client is tired of “playing it safe” and is open to the newness that change brings. My ideal client is not only searching for a way out of their situation, but they are ready to gain the tools needed to improve their quality of life. Therapy is not about being told what to do, it’s finding a great fit with a skilled clinician who will join you in your journey to wellness. Rather than trying to fix things on your own, why not collaborate with someone who celebrates your individuality and incorporates it in your healing process?

I am most familiar with the following life issues including: anxiety, depression, ADHD, school related issues, family problems, grief, parenting, relationship and marriage issues, OCD, binge eating, anger, chronic fatigue and pain, emotional intelligence, fear, self-care, self-compassion, self-doubt, self-esteem, social anxiety, spirituality, women's issues, and workplace issues.
My faith in Christ is the foundation of my life and guides the way I approach healing and restoration. I believe therapy is a sacred space where compassion, grace, and truth come together. I understand how hard it is to trust someone with your story, especially when facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship struggles. As a trauma-informed therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families, thoughtfully integrating faith and evidence-based care for those who desire it.

I help people to develop a sense of control and safety in exploring their thoughts, memories and feelings; who are having a hard time and want to make a change; and who find it difficult to control anger, sadness, anxiety, mood swings, stress, to trust others or have close relationships.
I recognize not all problems we face are in our minds: injustice abounds. My approach helps to give clarity to emotions and develop insight on how best to move ahead. I work with a wide range of people including those with histories of childhood abuse, those who are at a loss, in a life transition; or who can’t point to any reason for how they feel.

If anxiety, anger, or emotional overwhelm feel exhausting, you don't have to carry it alone.
If you’ve been trying to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, or long-standing patterns and still feel stuck… you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are capable, thoughtful adults who feel overwhelmed internally, reactive in relationships, or frustrated that insight alone hasn’t brought the relief they hoped for. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for anxiety, attachment wounds, burnout, betrayal, and life transitions. This work is for people who are ready to slow things down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and create meaningful change—not just manage symptoms.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Hypnotherapist, I work with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, and grief. I understand trauma and its effects from a personal and professional perspective. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist my clients in retraining their minds. By doing this, my clients will learn to take control of intrusive/racing thoughts, negative thinking patterns, and/or unwanted subconscious beliefs. My style is warm, but solution focused and goal oriented. If you are not ready to go inward to create positive change, I may not be the Therapist for you.

I have 31 years of experience providing counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, stressing that what we think determines what we feel and what we do. For many reasons, people learn unrealistic or destructive thoughts that cause them problems in their lives. Therapy works towards more realistic thinking, and avoiding old and destructive thinking. As I like to say, therapy is a conversation with a destination, and realistic thinking is that destination.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
