Is something keeping you from being the partner, parent, friend or family member you want to be? When you're feeling sad or nervous or if you're struggling with a troubling memory it can be hard to be the person you always imagined you'd be at this time in your life. I want to help you hold the weight you're carrying and figure out what it is that's holding you back.

I help clients to connect with their authentic selves and strengthen their relationships. I work from a framework that explores the ways in which early experiences can shape current patterns of relating with oneself and others. My work is also guided by the understanding that many clients' difficulties are impacted by systems of oppression such as racism, transphobia, homophobia, and gender discrimination.

Oftentimes people are in search of ways they can change so that their lives are more meaningful and less overwhelming. Learning where issues stem from, having insight into your patterns, thoughts and behaviors, as well as learning new coping strategies can make all the difference.

I work with adolescents and adults who want therapy that is both evidence-based and deeply human. Many of my clients come to me seeking skills and insight while also needing a space where they feel fully heard. I believe that attention and validation can be transformative, and that therapy should leave you with more perspective than when you came in. My approach balances critical thinking and science with respect for the complexities of lived experience, creating a space that is flexible, collaborative, and focused on what matters most to you.

" Using a humanistic, psychodynamic, and person-centered approach, we'll incorporate CBT and other techniques, but they will be customized to you personally.
Many of us wrestle to find hope, move forward, or just make it through the day. Depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, death and loss, life changes, and past trauma can take away motivation and increase struggles. Each of us needs a place to discuss and explore deep, personal topics. I provide a 100% confidential, unbiased, nonjudgmental space for adults to explore what is hindering them and overcome obstacles in healthy, ways.

I love working with new moms and dads who are adjusting to life during pregnancy and with a baby. This season can be beautiful—and also exhausting, overwhelming, and nothing like you expected. It’s completely normal to wonder, who am I now? So much shifts when you become a parent and I focus on how you are doing, not just how the baby is sleeping. Together, we look at how you’re functioning day to day and what self-care can realistically look like in this stage. Parenting is hard. You deserve support that helps this transition feel true to who you are—without guilt, shame, or pressure to have it all figured out.

Hi there! Are you looking to start your therapeutic journey? It can feel scary and out of our comfort zones to ask for help, but you should feel beyond proud of yourself for making the first step. I strive to make therapy a safe space where you feel supported to learn about yourself and grow/heal. I approach the counseling relationship from a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental, and compassionate viewpoint. I understand that trauma impacts us all differently, therefore I am mindful to operate through a trauma-informed lens as we all come from different walks of life with different worldviews & experiences.

My cognitive-dynamic approach fuses state-of-the-art cognitive-behavior strategies with exploring deeper psychodynamic issues.
You're ready to confront the problems that are holding you back from happiness, unsatisfying relationships, or professional growth. Perhaps you hit rock bottom or have mild issues that need fine-tuning of emotional skills. We'll first clarify your life goals, identify the barriers to achieving them, and learn how deep you need to dig to get what you want. I've developed a scientific method that lets you" take your mental temperature" to see if you are in a normal or dysfunctional state of mind and to pinpoint areas that need improvement. Whatever, the problems, they are a springboard to transformation and growth.

My approach is psychodynamic at its core, informed by mindfulness practices, family systems theory, and my background in cultural anthropology - which means I take seriously the broader contexts that shape a person's inner life.
I work with adults and couples who are seeking deeper self-understanding and meaningful change, and feel weighed down by patterns they can't quite name. In a polarized world, I insist on nuance and complexity, and I bring that same commitment to the therapy room. Through empathy, deep listening, and careful exploration, we work toward insight that produces real, noticeable shifts in how you feel, how you relate, and how you move through the world.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
