As you begin your journey to self healing I would like to be an empowering support person for you. I believe we all have personal strengths and the resilience to overcome life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing and working through issues and concerns that you are facing. I believe in listening to one’s story and validating feelings. I have several years experience working in grief and loss and chronic illness. Past losses if not dealt with will present itself throughout life when other losses occur.
My personal experience migrating to the U.S. from East Africa has allowed me to learn the nuances of navigating two cultures while trying to explore my own identity. The long-term social and emotional implications of this can make it difficult to safely explore and develop an identity that feels true to who you are. My goal is to encourage self-compassion and help resolve the inner conflicts you may have about yourself and the world. I provide therapy to adults of all backgrounds who are experiencing: anxiety, depression, life transitions, bicultural/multicultural identity, codependency, and mood disorders.
I am a white, queer, trans, and small fat master’s level counselor and art therapist. I received my BA in Art Therapy at Converse College and MA in Counseling and Art Therapy from Drexel University. The majority of my clinical work has been with trans people in addiction and mental health recovery. Because of this experience, I specialize in working with individuals within the queer and trans community.

There's hope for your child, teen, or young adult! If they are tired of chaos or can't find a way out of the tunnel, we are here. Your child is not lost, only misguided by outside stress, traumatic events, judgments and invalidation. Everyone's a moment away from being rediscovered. We specialize in treating children through young adults (3- 26) and hope to guide them on their journey. We identify key coping skills to manage rollercoaster emotions, chaotic relationships, impulsive/destructive behaviors, and connect mind-body through mindfulness based practices. This stabilization allows space for processing of adverse experiences.

I hope to provide the space to safely explore emotions and past experiences together to ultimately achieve the goals we have set in mind. My approach to therapy is to be warm and trauma-informed; while remaining flexible and eclectic. My bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience also boosts my understanding of how our experiences affect our physical bodies.
Life is a complex journey that challenges us as we move through it. All the experiences we encounter affect the way we interact and interpret our internal and external worlds. When these worlds become overwhelming, associated with negative beliefs, and/or affect our daily functioning it may be time to find support. I believe that we all have the ability to overcome barriers and obstacles that come our way throughout this journey. Each of us can grow and change through the very strengths we have within ourselves. Sometimes these strengths can be hard to access when we are going through a challenging time.
My heart is to help my clients grow in strength and wholeness. Our life's journeys can be unpredictable and uncertain. We can experience transitional changes and shifts in our perspectives: mentally, physically and even spiritually. I truly believe you can walk through these circumstances with courage as we partner together. My hope is to support and assist you as we travel together in areas of challenge and help you find the right path for your destination. I would love to help you move forward in vitality. I want to empower you to confront the urge to give up and give you the tools to reach for hope and health again!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Equestrian, Yoga Teacher, Student of Life... I am curious, interested, hungry for more...I am tattooed, spry, witty...I say these things not to brag about myself, but to simple put out the intention behind Pathways to Peace. I am not defined by a single aspect, of my life and neither are you! That being said, considering we are all unique beings with our individual needs, qualities and experiences, how is it reasonable to expect one to follow one path of healing, typically traditional psychotherapy and/or medication management?

I believe that the main goal of therapy is to help us come to terms with our past and move on with our lives. What helped us adapt to our environment before, may be maladaptive now. We may experience traumatic situations, and these situations may negatively impact the way we see ourselves, the way that we see others, the way that we see the world, and the way that we see our future. The good news is that with courage, curiosity and introspection we can change even the most deep-seated negative beliefs about ourselves and others; we can become aware of and change the way we react.

Simply put, an ideal client is the one who just shows up. Whether or not you have been gently encouraged to seek therapy or you have made the decision on your own, it takes courage and intention to move forward on your journey towards growth, self-awareness, and healing. I tend to work well with clients who appreciate elevating and employing their level of introspection and insight. Ideal clients prefer and are open to delving deeper beneath the surface while at the same time understanding and appreciating the importance of behavioral based tools, techniques and interventions that ultimately help practical functionality.
