Hi, I'm Mak! I have a special interest in adults (18+) who have been negatively impacted by the systems and environments that surround them. I believe that our early life experiences, especially those learned during childhood, often shape our patterns and behaviors more than we realize. This can look like anxiety, depression, self esteem issues, attachment issues, difficulties within relationships, etc. By recognizing and understanding our recurring themes, we can improve our relationships with ourselves and those close to us.

I enjoy working with clients who want to get to the root of their struggles. These clients would like to gain insight into their symptoms, something difficult that has happened to them or to explore cycles and patterns that aren’t serving them. The clients I see often have attended therapy in the past. The clients I see also often present with attachment-based traumas, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, and difficulties in their personal and work relationships.

When challenges in life feel overwhelming, an open and reliable person can be just what we need to explore and discover creative solutions. I believe we have the strength within us to resolve problems, but often we need help to reimagine and channel that strength. I have been providing counseling to those with a wide range of personal and mental health concerns for over fifteen years. I sincerely enjoy working collaboratively to identify goals and maneuver through barriers to assist others in getting to the place where they want to be.

I am a good fit for the client who wants to shed the burden of shame they have been carrying to make peace with the past and step into the future. I enjoy working with teens and adults who are navigating life transitions, struggling with difficult relationships, trying to make sense of chaos, or dealing with grief and loss. A patient presents with concerns regarding impulsive decision-making and wanting to change relationship patterns. She was recently diagnosed with postpartum after giving birth 30 days prior. She is currently in a relationship with the child's father and reports being unhappy with his parenting skills. She wants to go out on her own but is afraid he will separate her from the child. In therapy, she has clarified that she does not want to share with him at the child's young age.

I believe anyone can change. My role is to help you identify what you want to be different and to develop the strategies necessary to achieve these goals. I approach people from a non-judgmental mindset, treating them with respect and dignity. Many of the people I see struggle with major life altering events such as divorce and/or addiction. Many others have come from abusive environments, which interfere with their ability to form healthy connections with others. What these people often share is the feeling of being overwhelmed. By systematically reviewing the forces creating the difficulty, peace can be yours.

My passion in my therapy work centers around helping people navigate the challenges of living with Adult ADHD, Anxiety, CPTSD, Trauma, Codependency, and Communication/trust issues in relationships. I also have had success in treating erectile dysfunction concerns. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, but I also recognize the importance of tailoring treatment to each individual's specific needs and values.
