Do you feel like your struggle is invisible? People look at you and think you've got it all together. But you don't feel that way at all. Some days you feel like you're barely holding it together. "High functioning" people keep going...because they feel they have to or because they have goals they want to achieve. Outwardly, you look fine...maybe even better than fine. But on the inside maybe you feel like you're carrying a 100 pound weight around with you and are drowning or maybe you can't turn your thoughts off...you ruminate on every possible mistake you think you may have made. It's just exhausting.

Anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties often get in the way of being at our best. Problems concerning anger, assertiveness, sexuality, spirituality and finding one's way in life are also more frequent than many realize. To be unshackled from these limiting psychological factors is to be quickened to growth and awakened to live out one's unique idiom. This results in more joyful aliveness, inspiration, and peace -- magnifying the difference you make in your life and in the world.

Therapy is meant to be a completely individual experience, and I treat it as such, with deep compassion and absolutely no judgment. Whether working with children or adults, the therapeutic alliance we will build is the foundation of successful treatment.
"Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step." You always have the capacity to live your life to its fullest potential. The team at Momentum Counseling & Coaching work closely with their clients to help them uncover their authentic self and start living the life they deserve. We encourage our clients to draw on their strengths and talents, as well as to develop intuitiveness, support, daily structure and coping skills. Therapy in a supportive environment has the potential to heal and guide clients to long term changes.
We all move from our first breath and this power can be harnessed to create meaningful experiences towards healing. If you are looking for a therapy experience that goes beyond talking and helps you connect to your whole self, Dance/movement therapy could be for you!! If you have tried traditional "talk" therapy and it has not produced the changes you are wanting, a Dance/Movement therapy session will help you make shifts in session (literally!) that you can apply in your everyday life. If you or your child or teen does not like to "talk" about your feelings, DMT is a solution! At my core, I see movement as our path to wellness. Movement connects us to our physiology and psychology to really affect change- we cannot just think our way to change, we need to move it! I use the body, which is never in the past or future, as a tool to help clients become aware of your own physical and emotional states in the present. I strive to connect my clients to your bodies and from there we practice techniques to empower you to embrace living in your bodies and connecting to your whole self.
Congratulations, you've take the first step toward healing which is often the most difficult! I'm glad you are seeking help and support for yourself. In my years of practice, I have witnessed the range of emotional struggle of individuals and I have been honored to walk through these struggles with my clients helping them create a life worth living.
Welcome. If you’ve come this far, I imagine you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and frustrated - that life lacks in the meaning, vitality, and belonging that you would desire for yourself. I am a clinical psychologist with 14 years of experience. I have a broad range of expertise and specialize in trauma, loss, and related problems of identity, relationships, and meaning.

(Not accepting new clients.) People come to me because they are struggling and feel stuck. I specialize in working with adults and children/families who are challenged by anxiety, ADHD, or "Asperger's" but have experience with many different issues. My approach involves providing information about how the brain works, how to use it as your ally instead of an enemy, and how to find strength in the very things that challenge you. (ex: There are so many wonderful things about having ADHD!) I do this in the context of interpersonal relationships where we talk about things like identity and communication/conflict resolution skills.
I treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and have worked with people suffering from OCD and related disorders for over a decade in different capacities. I'm fortunate to have worked for, and been trained by, nationally recognized experts and continue to receive professional consultation to better serve my clients. I've received intensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and describe my clinical approach as direct, curious, and collaborative.
