I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field working with children, teens, adults and families.
“Therapy is more about building new associations, making new, healthier default pathways. It is almost as if therapy is taking your two-lane dirt road and building a four-lane freeway alongside it. The old road stays, but you don’t use it much anymore. Therapy is building a better alternative, a new default. And that takes repetition, and time, honestly, it works best if someone understands how the brain changes. This is why understanding how trauma impacts our health is essential for everyone"- Dr. Bruce Perry

Couples, families and youth are welcome.
I offer an Integrative approach. Many of us are transitioning through life's stages. The habits and expectation from when we were younger may no longer work for us as we approach mid-life or older adulthood. Financial burdens worry us. Some of us are in the "sandwich generation" where are taking care of growing children and aging parents.

I work with clients to understand how thoughts, emotions, and communication patterns shift under stress and how these affect relationships, decision-making, and sense of self. My approach is practical and systems-oriented, focusing on how people move between clarity and emotional overload, and how this impacts access to effective thinking and behavior. We identify patterns that once worked but no longer fit current demands, then build adaptive tools for regulation, communication, and problem-solving. Clients often feel stuck or disconnected from their usual capacities; our work is to restore flexibility and function under stress.

Overwhelming worry and stress follow you everywhere. You struggle to focus, relax, and let things go. Constant overthinking leaves you drained, restless, and on edge. The longer this persists, the more it feels like things will never change. You have tried coping on your own, but solutions that used to work no longer seem to help. You dream of a happier life – free from worry, present in the moment, and optimistic about the future – and wonder if it is even possible. I know what these struggles are like, and I can help you restore hope in yourself. Keep reading to learn how!

Are you struggling with your past? Anxiety? Depression? Many people believe trauma is limited to large events such as sexual assault, domestic violence, or natural disasters. What they don't realize is that trauma comes in all sizes, little "t"s and big "T"s. Experiences like shame, humiliation, bullying, and family dynamics, are often not taken into account but can cause similar harm.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
