I offer evidence-based therapy grounded in CBT, ACT, DBT, and CBT-I, tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns. They may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship stress, or a general sense of disconnection, even while functioning well on the outside. Often, they’re motivated to change but unsure what will actually help, and want a space to slow things down, make sense of their experience, and move forward in a way that feels grounded and real.

I specialize in working with children (as young as 2 years old), adolescents, young adults, and families. Even when I am working individually with a child, I involve parents in every session so that the whole family learns new skills and communication patterns. As a parent myself, I understand that when our children are suffering, we suffer. I seek to support the entire family on their path toward change and better health. We often hire coaches or tutors to help our children develop in sports or academics. I consider myself an emotion coach, here to help children and parents navigate their emotional worlds and achieve their goals.

Life is hard! There is no instructional manual for how to figure it all out!  I value authenticity and attunement in session-my job is to be someone you can trust and someone you feel comfortable with I hope that we can come up with a way of exploring your life in a way that is meaningful to you and helps you make sense of your life and your experiences. Come skeptical! Come with questions! Its not your job to trust me, or open up to me if you don’t want to-its my job to help create a genuine and authentic space so we can sort out the problems you are dealing with together, and help you come up with a better way to handle them.

My approach is rooted in attachment theory and shaped by practices like Internal Family Systems (IFS), interpersonal process work, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT).
Life can leave us feeling pulled in different directions—sometimes disconnected from ourselves, sometimes weighed down by old wounds, and other times simply uncertain about the next step. I work with young adults and adults who want to feel more whole, grounded, and able to navigate the challenges of relationships, transitions, and daily life with integrity and purpose.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
